"I just want a guy who's kind, and smart, and handsome, and truly understands the depths of my very soul," she said. "Is that too much to ask?"
"Yes. Pick two," said her older and wiser friend, who had studied the question. "And not the truly-understands-the-depths-of-your-very-soul one."
Maybe I'm just that much of a prize, but I've found it reasonably easy to get the first three. (Per person, not one per partner.) That last one though? Forget about it.
Come to think of it, I don't know whether you should lose hope to meet such a person because such people only exist after you make them yourself, over years and decades of sticking together and entwining your lives; or whether it would just suck to be known too well.
