Ayn Rand said that a Spanish proverb said that God said, "Take what you want, and pay for it."

But _instructions_ from God would be redundant. Matter does not _obey_ physical law out of fear of punishment or a sense of moral duty; what we call a "law" is a characterization of _that which exists_. So too with this.
